Physical Requirements for Resuscitation Assessment

The HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to provide first aid and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.

One requirement of the training package is that you are to be assessed as physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor and 8 minutes for the advanced units of competency.

Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard it is not appropriate to issue a statement of attainment to students who are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements.

SureFire Tactical Pty Ltd are unable to make adjustments to these requirements even if the qualification is a necessary part of the learner’s employment conditions.

If you feel you will be unable to meet the physical requirements, please contact us prior to training on 0447 762 074 or via email training@surefiretactical.com.au to discuss your options.

When an applicant accepts a place offered by us and pays the fees, it means a binding contract is created between the student and us. Notification of cancellation/withdrawal from unit/s of competency, withdrawal or deferral from a course of study must be made in writing to us, whichever entity the original transaction occurred with.

In the case of cancellation/withdrawal, the following cancellation fees will apply:

  • Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment more than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program may receive a full refund of fees paid.
  • Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment less than 10 days prior to the commencement of the program may not receive a full refund, dependent on the specific circumstances relating to the withdrawal of enrolment.
  • Students who cancel their enrolment after a training program has commenced will not be entitled to a refund of fees. Enrolment into a course via distance delivery will be deemed to have commenced when the learner resources have been dispatched.

Where it has been identified that there is a legitimate reason there will be no charge for a student to transfer to another course with original provider.

Please note that administration fees of 25% of the Course Fee may apply for the processing of refunds.

Discretion may be exercised by us in all situations, if the student can demonstrate that extenuating or significant personal circumstance led to their withdrawal. In these cases, the student should be offered a full credit toward the tuition fee in another scheduled program in-lieu of a refund. The nominated representative may also authorise a refund of tuition fees if the circumstances require it.

Where refunds are approved, the refund payment ill, where possible, be paid to the student within 14 days from the time the student gave written notice to cancel their enrolment. Tuition refunds are to be paid via electronic funds transfer using the authorised bank account nominated by the student on the Refund Request Form.
